In short: This ritual does not try to bind anyone or change another person's will: its purpose is to open your heart, remind you of what you deserve and prepare you to receive a healthy love. You need 4 simple items and 6 steps. When: During a waxing moon or on a Friday, the day traditionally linked to Venus.
When to do it
During a waxing moon or on a Friday, the day traditionally linked to Venus. Choose a quiet moment in the evening.
What you need
- A small pink candle in a stable holder
- A sheet of paper and a pen
- A few rose petals or a fresh flower (optional)
- A glass of water
Step by step
- Tidy and air the room. Place the candle on a non-flammable surface with the petals around it.
- Sit comfortably, take three deep breaths and light the candle.
- Write down three qualities you want to give and receive in love (for example: respect, tenderness, joy).
- Read the list aloud while looking at the flame and finish with: "I open myself to a love that is good for me."
- Take a sip of water as a symbol of taking in that intention, and stay with the candle for a few more minutes.
- Put out the candle with a snuffer, keep the paper in a special book or drawer, and place a flower somewhere visible at home.
Safety first
Never leave a lit candle unattended. Place it in a stable, heat-resistant holder away from curtains, paper, children and pets, and put it out with a snuffer.
